The analysis field of this thesis may seem detached from the industrial design theme but it is, instead, extremely connected. My analysis made me deal on several issues, that were unknown to me before, but that I learned a lot from, by getting in touch with some important figures of the local and international type design panorama. Starting from the origins of the first written signs and going through the development of the different calligraphic styles, my analysis reached today’s typographic world: a particular moment in the history, in which people, that are sorrounded by digital instruments and computers, feel the need of a return to the past and the rediscovery of the old traditions. The knowledge of this field allowed me to expand my skills and to learn new and interesting concepts that weren’t, otherwise, taught during my bachelor studies. The thesis is written in Italian.
