Tetra-Kross Set
Breakfast set made by waste materials
October 2010 - Turin, Italy
Workshop
In this workshop the Ready-Made has been portrayed as a qualitative reuse of a very hard material to recycle and to dispose of but, at the same time, widely used and easy to find. For these reasons, Tetrapack (a very common polylaminate) is the material which has been considered. Its technical characteristics have been examined to understand which could be the scope of the most relevant project to stress its best qualities. The main feature of this material is its ability to resist to high temperatures and low conductivity. The idea to design a set of dish mats, glass mats and placemats came easily as a consequence. Also the material of the placemats is made by thin strips coming from cartons of milk and juice and waste material in tetrapack. This project led to the pleasure for handmade works and DIY activities, but at the same time want to underline to importance of reusing some materials that, in other cases, would be wasted.
