I-Thermic heater - Desk version
POP display with heater for I-Thermic sunglasses
April 2014 - Turin, Italy
Client: Italia Independent
Country Lab Project
Like the I-Thermic fair version, this desk display is designed for Italia Independent’s I-Thermic collection. This collection of sunglasses comprehends several shapes and models, but the main characteristic of them is that they react to different temperatures, showing a change of pattern and colors. The shape, designed for collecting the warm air flow over the sunglasses, is inspired by Renzo Piano’s Ferrari Wind Gallery (Maranello, Italy) and reminds to the bigger version of display for colors and various other elements. The main structure is made by welded commercial aluminum profiles in order to optimize the production, the weight and the costs. The upper cylinder, with the space for one pair of glasses is painted in matte black, while the vertical profile is painted in glossy white. Because of the reduced dimensions, this version is equipped with a fan and only one timer. All the electronic components are placed in the base.
